Lugar Comun is an organization founded by Venezuelan immigrants who have been working for more than ten years as literary and other art expression supporters. In Caracas, Lugar Comun became a group of bookstores that actioned beyond books and became a cultural center capable of concentrating more than 1500 free activities during the five years of functioning. We had and now want to keep a Poetry Prize that became one of the most important in the country. In 2018 the founders were forced to emigrate, and the project came to Miami. But the mission is the same: to create platforms of understanding through literature. 

For our organization, immigration is a source of social enrichment, and collaboration with artists of different origins generates cultural exchange and understanding between various communities.
